Air Force veteran and College of Engineering student finds new mission at UNC Charlotte: Smarter HVAC technology
Congrats!! UNC Charlotte awarded more than 1,100 degrees and certificates during its 2026 Summer Commencement ceremony; celebrating graduates across all colleges, the graduate school and doctoral programs. Graduates represent 13 countries, 23 states, 63 North Carolina counties and range in age from 18 to 62.
The U.S. National Science Foundation has selected the NSF Grid Modernization Engine in the Carolinas (Carolinas Grid Engine) as one of America’s newest NSF Regional Innovation Engines (NSF Engines). The engine is led by UNC Charlotte and supported by more than 100 partners across North Carolina and South Carolina.
Leadership change: Robert Keynton, dean of the William States Lee College of Engineering, has announced his intention to step down from the leadership role, effective July 1, 2027.
