- Air Force veteran and College of Engineering student finds new mission at UNC Charlotte: Smarter HVAC technology
- Congrats!! UNC Charlotte awarded more than 1,100 degrees and certificates during its 2026 Summer Commencement ceremony; celebrating graduates across all colleges, the graduate school and doctoral programs. Graduates represent 13 countries, 23 states, 63 North Carolina counties and range in age from 18 to 62.
- The U.S. National Science Foundation has selected the NSF Grid Modernization Engine in the Carolinas (Carolinas Grid Engine) as one of America’s newest NSF Regional Innovation Engines (NSF Engines). The engine is led by UNC Charlotte and supported by more than 100 partners across North Carolina and South Carolina.
- Leadership change: Robert Keynton, dean of the William States Lee College of Engineering, has announced his intention to step down from the leadership role, effective July 1, 2027.
- UNC Charlotte ranked No. 17 nationally for best value in higher education
- Excited we were able to host the ASEE June Annual Conference here in the Queen City and our college was front and center! A great way to showcase how awesome we are! Thanks to BSME alum, Truck Series Driver, Layne Riggs for signing some autographs!

UNC Charlotte collaboration!- 1/28: Excited to have had some stellar Mechanical Engineering companies here to engage with our largest department (MEGR) recently. Our first ever formal employer-student networking and outreach event in Duke Centennial Hall. A tight squeeze but we made it work!

- Three New Degrees: A Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence, a Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence and a Bachelor of Science in Construction Engineering will launch in fall 2026 at UNC Charlotte.
